1949 Merc lead sled project

Here's a nice 1949 Mercury 4 door project. Much of the hard work has been done!

No rust on the body or floors. Body is in etching primer, and has been decked and shaved, no door handles. All new floors, trunk floor, new rocker panels, door bottoms excellent. Louvered hood (cost $1500), modified stock grill with center removed. Frenched rear taillights.

Chassis all done- cleaned and painted black. Has 9" Ford rear with 5 1/2 BC, all new brakes. Drive shaft is installed with new u-joints. All new brake lines and fuel lines, clean stock gas tank with filler neck shortened to trunk area.

Engine is 5.0 Ford small block with AOD overdrive trans, power steering and power brakes. Engine is decked out with lots of chrome, new chrome Edelbrock carb, MSD ignition, chrome alternator, and Mustang headers. No exhaust yet.

It has late model tilt Ford steering column with working column shifter. Dash is done with new gauges (no speedo) and all new wiring harness from Ron Francis.

Has factory skirts that came with the car. New Remington wide whites G-78X15. New master cylinder with residual check valves installed. No radiator presently.

Have both front and rear bumpers and braces with good chrome. Have all body side trim and inside garnish moldings and headliner bows. Have two new power window mechanisms.

Car has full-power late model front seats that are mounted. Have no backseat. Stock back glass is installed and thats the ONLY glass in the car. Have lots of parts with the car, some new, some stock. Engine has been fired!

Price is $7500 FIRM for a quick sale. NO TRADES. Have clear correct Indiana title. It's a 4-door, but still very cool and nicely done. You could be driving it yet this season!
