1890 Staats cast iron change maker

Here is a very cool, unusual piece. It is a cast iron and chrome change maker, patent date of 1890. I assume it was used in a bank or perhaps a retail place.

The chrome change maker part sits in the cast iron stand. One end of the changer is embossed with "Staats Money Changer Chicago" and the other end is the patent date of Feb. 25, 1890.
The unit measures 11-1/4" L x 9-1/4" D x 6-1/4" H. All of the springs work as well.
Great piece of history!
